What I Wore: On A Sunny Dutch Day

* Black t-shirt: H&M * Floral skirt: thrifted * Sandals: Saltwater via Office
* Necklace: Mungo & Jemima  * Sunglasses: New Look *
* 'Badass feminist killjoy' tote bag: by Glitterbugbean, bought at Sheffield zine fair *

It's been almost a year since I last did an outfit post. When I was beginning to get disillusioned with my old blog, they were the first thing to go. Also, a lot of what I wear in winter is super boring: summer outfits are much more blogable.

When we were in Nijmegen last weekend, we were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine, which meant my extensive collection of skirts were able to have an airing. This floral beauty was a steal from a local charity shop: I rarely, if ever, wear pinks and peaches so I initially left it behind, but after continuing to think about it for a week I went back to the shop and lo and behold, it was still there waiting for me.

I teamed the bold print with a plain black t-shirt, black sandals (these Saltwater sandals are SO comfortable) and a pendant necklace I bought in Cape Town this spring. The star of the outfit, though, turned out to be my bag, which garnered compliments (and attempts to steal it) all day!

  1. Has it been that long?! I agree, summer outfits are more interesting but my dress collection (that likely rivals your skirt collection) has barely had a chance to breathe this year. More heat please! I say this after my American cousin posted on Facebook earlier that Florida was freezing (at 18C) and my bro and cousins quickly put her in her place ;)

    1. Ouch, 18c for a Florida summer really is cold! But yeah, here we'd be wearing t-shirts in that weather!

  2. That skirt is gorgeous! I love the print; and it was clearly meant to be as it was still there waiting for you!

    1. Exactly - AND it had been reduced in price during that week, too! £1.75 is not too shabby.

  4. Not sure where my comment went but I will try again! I really like that pattern on the skirt- it is really pretty and looks a classic summer look. And YES, outfits soooooooooooo much more interesting in the summer!

    1. I have 8 outfits maximum in my autumn/winter wardrobe and maybe 40 in my summer one! Completely the wrong way round for the British weather.

  5. But in winter you get to wear scarves. And hats. And coats are better. You can just wear more clothes all at the same time. My missus has distinct summer/winter wardrobes. My winter outfits are pretty much my summer outfits plus a jumper/cardigan.

  6. So pretty! I admired your skirt on Instagram, but it's so much prettier in the flesh. Lovely outfit, one I would wear in a heartbeat. Can't believe people tried to steal your bag! Glad to see your outfit posts are back x

  7. Love the skirt, looks so fresh. I can't wait for some warm Spanish weather to wear all the stripy dresses gathering dust in my wardrobe! I'll also be wearing the same M&S sandals I wore all last summer, the ones we've got in common x
